Clock struck 12. It was my 20th Birthday! I had finally turned 20! It was Celebration time, cake cutting time, gifts receiving time but, unfortunately none of the expected things happened.
It was 12 am, I was supposed to be all cheered up, excited but, I was studying, studying like a freak, and praying after every half an
hour, 'God, please pass me. Even "just pass" is enough. I
don't want any other thing from you. Have I ever asked for anything? (and he did reply to that one-'yes, innumerable things!') Pleease, just one last time!!' Such prayers are quite helpful when you are in the condition where there are only few hours left for the exam and you've not even touched the other half of the syllabus (or the other subject) and specially when It's an EXTERNAL EXAM. Oh man! Things I do when I'm tensed- I do all kinds of stupid gestures while memorising the answers, I, being a typical water sign, go through worse mood swings, i also do arm waves and many other inexplicably embarrassing things which better if not told publicly!
Anyway, you know, you aren't always that unfortunate as you think. There's always this one special person to make your day, it may be a friend or some relative of yours. In my case it was my best friend, he came all the way from boys hostel to girls hostel gate at around 1 am to gift me an amazing, super cute and a very creative, handmade card which will always remain special..very special to me. He's an awee..*waitforit*some, an awesome cartoonist! He painted cute li'l angry birds and compared them to me. Each comparison made was so true! He's the kind of person who knows you very well, loves you from all his heart but never shows it and if he's around, get ready to laugh your heart out! He's a gem of a person.
Ok..coming back to the topic.. So, I somehow studied for the exam, slept like for an hour or two, got up, revised whatever i had studied vaguely and wrote my paper with absolutely no hopes of passing. Ironically, It was THE best paper I had written. I was so confident and sure about my answers. It made my day. I'm sure God blessed me with lot's of luck and love!
After that, in the evening, my seniors cum verrry good friends took me to CCD to cut my birthday cake. CCD cakes are Finger lickin' good! Yummylicious! Oh! Almost forgot, just after the exam got over, I treated my three closest friends who no matter how irritating, annoying, stupid are but no one understands me as well as they do. They tolerate my anger, my mood swings and still don't backbite about me!
You rarely get such good friends, now-a-days. And, how could I forget about the dinner? The dinner with my best friend was the icing on the cake.
My 20th birthday was Perfect. It had all the ingredients to make my Birthday a really special one. Here's hoping for some more birthdays like this in the future. At least for the next 4 years!
